Where I come from
Records that have to hold up later
Since 2018 I've worked as a sterile laboratory technician and safety officer in an allergy immunotherapy compounding lab. The work is aseptic compounding in a cleanroom, hands-on environmental monitoring sampling, and checking orders with doctors and pharmacists so each patient-specific formulation is right.
Before that, from 2016 to 2018, I was a quality control laboratory technician at a health and beauty care manufacturer. I tested raw materials and finished goods (HPLC, GC, FTIR, pH, viscosity, moisture), tracked out-of-specification results and investigations, including through a Health Canada audit, and helped a senior chemist set up and validate new test methods.
I hold an Honours B.Sc. in biological science from Trent University. I'm not a pharmacist, and I haven't held a senior QA or computer system validation title.
What I build now
Self-directed, and inspectable
Most of my software and AI work is self-directed. I haven't held a software engineering job title, so the evidence is the work you can open and check:
- Biotech RAG assistant: a controlled-document assistant built controls first, with a live demo, public code and tests.
- Claim Audit Lab: a claim auditor I built, measured against blind human labels, and retired as a scorer when it failed. The failure stays public.
- AI Reviewer pressure-test: an early research pilot on whether reviewers catch errors in AI-assisted work.
